CANCELED- Discover: Sourdough with Laune Bread
March 16, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
$15.00THIS CLASS HAS BEEN CANCELED
Sourdough, the oldest form of leavened bread, has been around for millennia and is eaten by cultures across the globe. Likely discovered as a happy accident when bread dough was left out and wild yeasts drifted into the mix, the result was bread with a light texture and delicious taste.
Laune Bread is subscription based micro-bakery based in Minneapolis. Their naturally leavened sourdough breads are whole grain focused and sourced primarily from Minnesota. They bake their breads with freshly milled local flour and rely on natural fermentation to turn out beautiful loaves of sourdough. A bit European, a bit west coast American, Laune Bread is committed to producing high quality, local, “slow” bread.
In this class you’ll learn about the process of natural bread fermentation from Laune Bread bakers Chris MacLeod and Tiff Singh. They’ll discuss choosing the right flours, maintaining a sourdough culture, understanding hydration, and what their fermentation style is and why. You’ll have a chance to ask your sourdough questions and learn more about their local company while you enjoy a snack of their delicious breads and cookies served with accompaniments and a local brew.
About the Discover Series: This educational happy hour series explores different aspects of sustainable food systems in a fun and casual setting. This class is sponsored by Laune Bread.
Note: Alcohol will be served so 21+ only, please.
