Fun with Fish

If you’re intimidated by cooking fish at home, or want to expand your fish repertoire, look no further than this hands-on class led by UMN Campus Club Chef Beth Jones. Beth will talk you through fish-cooking basics; how to substitute one kind of fish for another in a recipe; and how, where, and why to buy high-quality fish, as well as answer any and all of your fishy questions.
Class menu will include:
- Japanese Root Vegetable Stew with Seared Coho Salmon and Miso Aioli
- Pan Seared Arctic Char with Sour Cream, Chive Cucumber Sauce
- Keta Salmon with Lemon, Chili, Sage Butter
The salmon in this class will come from Sitka Salmon Shares, a Midwest- and Alaska-based Community Supported Fishery (similar to the CSA model for veggies) with a serious commitment to responsible and sustainable fishing practices that result in delicious and healthy products. Class participants will receive a coupon for $25 off a share with Sitka Salmon Shares.
