Khao Poon (Laotian Noodle Soup)

Southeast and East Asia are home to many craveable, slurpable noodle soups. You’ve probably heard of pho and ramen, but what about khao poon? Khao poon (which means “rice noodle” in Laotian) is a richly aromatic Laotian noodle soup typically made with coconut milk, vermicelli noodles, and chicken or pork, and flavored with red curry, galangal, kaffir lime, garlic, ginger and lemongrass. Chef and teacher Yia Vang of Union Kitchen will introduce you to this richly flavored soup and the story behind it, and then you’ll prepare and enjoy a great big bowl for yourself. It’s just the thing to get you through the cold MN winter!
