Rum Cocktails: From Spring to Summer

Like the weather in April, rum can straddle the seasons with its versatility in cocktails. Not all rum tastes alike, in fact rum is one of the most varied spirits in the world. If you don’t like one style there’s another out there you will. While all rum begins with sugarcane, there’s a world of difference in what happens to the spirit after that.
This cocktails class taught by Mike Augustyniak (WCCO Meteorologist and host of Mike’s Mix, with features in The Growler Magazine, Twin Cities Pride Guide) will show off the versatility of rum with a lineup of seasonally inspired rum cocktails that can take you from early spring to mid-summer and beyond. You’ll also learn about the history of rum, the differences in varieties, all while getting to taste a range of locally produced rums. Recipes, samples, and light appetizers will be provided.
