“Stay Wild”: A Deep Dive Into Alaskan Fishing

January 13, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

$15.00

Our fish experts, and friends, at Sitka Salmon Shares (SSS) are back for another Discover series class taking a deeper look into sustainable fishing. This educational and interactive class, taught by SSS MN Manager Richie Mann, will feature an in-depth look into the people and the work behind SSS.

Joining us in class via live stream will be SSS Kodiak Fleet Manager, Ryan Horwath. He will discuss day to day life as a fisherman, conservation practices, harvesting techniques, the history of small boat fishing, and the future of seafood in Alaska. You’ll also learn about the Alaska to Midwest connection and how SSS makes the bridge between our shared food-based value systems. Class will include a light seafood appetizer accompanied by a local brew for you to enjoy. Bring your questions about sustainable fishing and be ready to dive in!

About the Discover Series: This educational happy hour series explores different aspects of sustainable food systems in a fun and casual setting. This class is sponsored by Sitka Salmon Shares.
