The Seasonal Pantry: Herbs

The second installment in our “Seasonal Pantry” series, which is designed to help you stock your pantry with local ingredients to last you well into the darkest days of winter, focuses on herbs. A single bunch of herbs can be difficult to use up, let alone the abundance of herbs offered up by gardens and farmers markets. Laurie Crowell of St. Paul’s fine foods shop The Golden Fig is here to help, teaching you several techniques to preserve the flavor of fresh herbs and answering all of your herby questions. She’ll share recipes for (and samples of!) several herb sauces that can be made in bulk and frozen to brighten up winter meals, as well as techniques and tips for drying herbs and infusing vinegars.
