Farm Share Field Trip – with Three Rivers Fibershed

$20.00

SKU: FS-Field-Trip-1-1 Categories: Farm Share, Store Items

Learn more about the farm share and your local food system with a fun evening of natural dyeing – with food scraps!

The Three Rivers Fibershed will help us explore solar dyeing, a process that uses the heat of the sun and local plants to create botanically colored textiles. Participants will learn about the dye process, food-based dyes, and start their own solar vat in a glass ball jar with a mini-skein of wool that can be used for mending!

Dyeing materials (food waste for dyes, pre-mordanted mini skein, mending postcard) are included, but please bring your own ball glass jar with lid!

This event is open to all ages, please include the age(s) of children in your checkout notes so our presenter has a good idea of how to structure the evening.

The event will be on June 14th, from 4:00-5:30pm, at The Good Acre garden.
