Shelley grew up on a small family farm in Michigan and spent several years working for local orchards before attending college and moving to Minnesota where she earned her master’s in higher education administration. Shelley is passionate about the natural world and the interconnections between our food systems and the environment, and has done a lot of volunteer work with children around these topics.
Having spent most of her career with the University of Minnesota as Assistant to the Dean in the College of Agricultural, Food, and Environmental Sciences, it’s a natural and exciting fit for Shelley to bring her administrative skills to the good work of The Good Acre. She is the point person for all events happening in our classroom, facilitates our project management and constituent relations software solutions, and provides HR support to the Exec Director.
Shelley has a stash of beads and stones, enjoys loom knitting and sewing Renaissance creations.
